Lemon

Lemon is one of the best known and most widely used fruits in the world, not only for its peculiar bitter taste, but also for its many medicinal and therapeutic uses throughout history. For many, it is the king of citrus fruits.

It is said that as far back as the 17th century (approximately), the lemon was classified as a good digestive and blood purifier, among other things. For this reason, it is not surprising that so many recipes (both food and home remedies) were devised with the various parts of the fruit (peel, pulp, seeds). So, eating lemon to improve health is nothing new!

According to experts, lemon “provides a large amount of vitamin C, and smaller amounts of other vitamins and minerals” and they comment that “the most interesting components of lemon are precisely the phytochemical substances” among which we can mention the limonoids, which have been studied on multiple occasions.

1. Contributes to collagen production
